SchoolMAX is a district-based solution that provides for extensive school based management capabilities and controls.

SchoolMAX is truly unique. SchoolMAX addresses the real needs of today's school districts and abandons the limited design and technological approaches of traditional student information systems.

SchoolMAX improves end user productivity, information accuracy, and the accessibility of information to administrators, teachers, and parents.

MAXIMUS provides all of its users with the option of implementing the SchoolMAX application on an in-house Windows 2000/Oracle or MS Sequel Server, or in an Application Solution Provider (ASP) format over the Internet.

When the MAXIMUS ASP option is selected by a district, MAXIMUS will deliver the application directly to the end user's desktop using the district's existing Internet connections. With this approach, we manage ALL computer room functions including data integrity, loading new releases, back ups, system software and hardware performance issues. A user district simply uses the applications. This approach frees district staff from the maintenance of computers and allows that staff to be reallocated to more productive functions, such as end user support. Many districts also find the ASP approach the most cost effective solution. SchoolMAX is designed to offer end users unlimited options so that their productivity can be balanced with costs.

The SchoolMAX applications are designed to support an entire school district in a real-time enviornment. Most student systems in today's market are designed to address only individual schools.

In the past, application systems were designed to operate exclusively within a school building and had limited or no ability to effectively consolidate information at the district level. Each school became an island of information without access to family, student, sibling and other key information from other locations and without the ability to provide timely consolidated information for consolidated district reporting. This approach results in duplicate data entry and data inaccuracies -- the exact problems that an automated system is designed to address.

As a complement to the district-wide approach, SchoolMAX has a Census module that serves as the core around which the other modules are designed.

The Census module allows us to track a family and all family members across schools, dwellings, enrollment areas and much more. Unlimited history is provided because all information from all schools is consolidated into a single family record.

SchoolMAX also allows for students to be simultaneously associated with an unlimited number of families to track where the child lives, legal responsibilities, exclusions such as family protection and even detailed areas such as which families or contacts receive report cards.

Since family information is stored a single time in SchoolMAX, we eliminate the need for added data entry by other end users for family siblings -- significantly improving data accuracy because data is keyed and stored a single time.

The SchoolMAX Census-based design also supports advanced graphical geographic information systems for the planning of school boundaries, new school locations, student population studies, and much more. This is an exclusive feature of SchoolMAX and is based on the centralized, census-based design of our system.

SchoolMAX is fully web and Internet based for 100% of its application functions. SchoolMAX is able to run as a true speed enhanced client/server system across Internet connections, as well support the full operation of applications from within a web browser.

Both the client/server and browser based implementations support all SchoolMAX functions and work equally well using either Internet or Network connections. The two approaches may even be mixed concurrently.

User districts may choose the connectivity approach that fits their requirements instead of choosing an environment dictated to them by the application software.

SchoolMAX is developed exclusively with fourth and fifth generation tools for maximum flexibility and responsiveness to change. It is also implemented in a NT/Oracle or MS Sequel operating environment.

A key feature of SchoolMAX is true client/server processing that incorporates advanced graphical features such as point and click, list boxes, look up tables and much more. SchoolMAX is fully ODBC compliant database allows for full interaction with other PC/Workstation based tools so that end users:

• have access to interactive query and report development
• integration of data with word processing
• incorporation of data directly into spreadsheets
• mapping of census information into district maps for graphical planning and direct support from any ODBC compliant workstation tool.

We find that the SchoolMAX applications greatly improve the productivity of end users when implemented in virtually any district. We also find, however, that when our features to merge our system with PC desktop tools are utilized that this productivity improvement literally explodes.

Not the least of the SchoolMAX capabilities, the feature content of SchoolMAX is outstanding and supports all of the advanced design functions of our systems.

These features include full integration and interactive navigation between our Census, Student Information, Scheduling, Grade Reporting, Period and Daily Attendance, Special Education, Discipline, Graduation Standards, Textbook Management, Fees Management and System Administration.
